Hi friends,
Every July, I’m reminded why I started Wildfire in the first place. I wanted to create a space where sustainability wasn’t just an add-on — it was built into the foundation. Plastic Free July is one of those movements that hits close to home because it’s all about small, everyday choices that add up to something meaningful.
If you’ve ever walked into Wildfire, you’ve probably noticed we don’t carry much (if any) plastic. That’s not an accident. We intentionally seek out brands that are plastic-free, refillable, and made by real people who care deeply about the planet — just like we do.
What Plastic Free July Looks Like at Wildfire
This month, I’m inviting you to join me in making a few small shifts — nothing overwhelming, just things that feel doable. Maybe it’s switching to a shampoo bar (we stock my personal favorite), or finally tossing that grimy plastic loofah for a natural one. Maybe it’s carrying a reusable cup, or saying no to the plastic fork with your takeout.
None of us are perfect — I’m definitely not. But if we each do what we can, it really does make a difference.
Some of My Favorite Plastic-Free Swaps
These are things I use in my own home and love recommending to you in the shop:
• Dip shampoo + conditioner bars — they last forever and work so well (plus, they’re made by amazing humans).
• Solid bar soap blocks — zero plastic, zero waste, still gets your body squeaky clean.
• Bamboo toothbrushes + refillable floss — the kind of swap that feels tiny but adds up fast.
• Natural deodorants + skincare in glass or tin — no landfill guilt, and they look beautiful on your shelf.
Let’s Do This Together
I’ll be sharing a few personal tips throughout the month on social and would love to hear your favorites too. Pop in and tell me what you’re trying this July — or just come browse and get inspired.
Thanks for walking this road with me — imperfectly, intentionally, and with care. Whether you’re just starting out or years into your low-waste journey, you’re always welcome here.
With gratitude,
Emily
